This page will be dedicated to my Wicked Little Crittas

We have 3 cats and one dog. The cats are Emmie, Squeak and Tigger, and our dog is Amber.

My husband got Amber for Christmas in 1991. She is a 12 year old Golden Retriever/Cocker Spaniel mix. Amber loves everyone.

Emmie is a 6 year old short-haired tortoiseshell. She was rescued from the Chattanooga Animal Shelter in October 1998. She is very quiet, and very shy, so I don't have any pictures of her at the moment. She also thinks she is a princess, and decides when she wants to be affectionate, and then "allows" you to pet her.

Squeak is a 3 year old Russian Blue. He was a gift from one of my employees after one of our cats had to be put to sleep. We got him when he was 6 weeks old in March 2001. He is a little love sponge. He loves attention and skritches.

Tigger is a 9 month old Somali/Maine Coon mix. We rescued him from a parking lot while we were moving from South Florida to Raleigh, NC. We stopped at an IHOP on Florence, SC for a late dinner (around 2am), and as I was leaving the restaurant, I saw him under the wheel well of the car parked next to the moving truck. He was a teeny little starving sack of fur and bones. I coaxed him out from under the car, and had my husband run over to the 24-hour Wal-Mart to buy a carrier and some kitten food for him.

I spent about a week fattening him up so I could take him to the vet. He weighed just under 2 pounds, and had a respiratory infection. We could not give him his shots until the infection was cleared up, so we waited a few weeks, gave him his medicine, then took him back. At 8 weeks old, he was up to 4 pounds. The vet said he looked good, very healthy, and we got his shots and took him home.

When he was 4 months old, we took him back for his booster shots, and the vet said he was almost ready to be neutered. He was already up to 6 pounds at this time, and was living up to his name. He was a bouncy ball of energy.

At 5 1/2 months he was neutered. He was now up to 7 pounds, and catching up to the other cats in size and weight quickly. It was at this time we figured out he had the Maine Coon mix. He was growing much too quickly for a full Somali. He also had the personality of a Maine Coon - very adventurous and fun-loving. My husband snapped this picture of him a few weeks after he was neutered. He is watching Cowboy Bebop on Cartoon Network.

It is now April, 2004, and he is 9 months old. He is larger than the other 2 cats, but still has the mentality of a kitten. He likes to play and wrestle with Squeak, but Emmie is too dignified (aka, she thinks she is a princess) to play with him.
